Goodboy Galaxy: the new GBA game prepares to launch!

London, UK, September 2023 - After two years of Kickstarter-funded development, Goodboy Galaxy for the Game Boy Advance is officially on the assembly line, preparing for worldwide shipping in Winter 2023! The physical cartridge is available right now for pre-order, with a digital option to follow.

Developed in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Game Boy Advance, Goodboy Galaxy is an exploration focused platform game with a whole star system to discover.

Release Details

Goodboy Galaxy for Game Boy Advance will be released in Winter 2023 as both a digital Download via Itch.io and a physical cartridge release via First Press Games.

The physical release will be available in European, American and Japanese variants and is already available for pre-order from First Press Games' online store:

The digital ROM will be made available on Goodboy Galaxy's Itch.io page at the same time the physical cartridges begin to ship. An introductory Chapter Zero demo is already available for free and compatible with Game Boy Advance as well:

About the Game

Help Maxwell explore unfamiliar worlds, make strange new friends and content with mysterious forces.

Maxwell's homeworld is nearing collapse. In a last-ditch effort to find help, he hyperjumps where no dog has gone before. Stranded, he finds himself at the edge of a hostile system - if there's any hope of return and rescue he'll need every friend (and every weapon) he can find. Like all underdogs, the odds are stacked against him, but you can't keep a good dog down.

What about modern systems?
The digital ROM works on GBA emulators and the cartridge also on modern GBA-compatible devices like the Analogue Pocket.
